TORONTO—This morning, Andrea Horwath and the NDP made yet another unforced error in a press release distributed at the Premier’s event at Mad Mexican restaurant.
The NDP inaccurately attacked the Premier for attending an event in Etobicoke-Lakeshore this morning. The Premier was actually in NDP-held Parkdale-High Park, not Liberal Etobicoke-Lakeshore. A simple check of the postal code (M6S 3Z6 ) on the Elections Ontario website could have avoided this mistake.
Second, the NDP also attacked the Premier for attending an event in her riding this evening, saying that events in a Liberal-held riding show weakness. This evening is the annual Don Valley West community dinner for Iftar during Ramadan. Politicizing attending a long-standing major celebration of faith in an MPP’s riding is an odd choice by the NDP.
Third, the NDP attacked the Liberals for campaigning in held Mississauga seats. Again, this is where major community events in the GTA are being held, including the IFFSA gala, the Inspirational Steps run, and the Mela Teeyan Da Mother’s Day event. Worth noting that Andrea Horwath chose not to attend these events.
Fourth, next time the NDP War Room may want to check their own leader’s schedule before issuing a release. Today, Andrea Horwath is scheduled to campaign in the NDP seat recently vacated by now federal leader Jagmeet Singh, formerly called Bramalea-Gore-Malton.
Lastly, both Ford and Horwath have also campaigned in their own ridings already.
